Summertime

A spectacular wedding at Poulaphouca House and Falls

Poulaphouca House and Falls is recently renovated venue in Co. Wicklow we have filmed at a couple if times and were delighted to capture Hannah and Ryan’s celebration here last summer.

It’s a private venue in the beautiful Wicklow countryside, so when you take it for your wedding, it’s yours and yours alone.

Set on 6 acres of countryside surrounded by woods, lakes, and wildlife, the venue is just a short 5-minute drive from Blessington and 45 minutes from Dublin city. The location makes it an ideal choice for couples looking for a serene and picturesque setting for their big day.

But what really impressed me about this venue was the renovations and the attention to detail. The venue has been recently refurbished to a high standard, and it shows. From the beautifully decorated ceremony space to the spacious reception areas, every inch of the venue has been carefully crafted to provide the perfect setting for a memorable wedding.

We were equally impressed by the food which we got to enjoy later in the evening. Poulaphouca will create individual and unique dishes for each wedding hosted, using only local ingredients, and it did not disappoint. Indeed reading through guests reviews before the wedding, it’s noticeable how much high praise the food here gets. Another big box to tick off (in our view anyway!).

Hannah and Ryan’s held their humanist ceremony in the Garden Pavilion – a new addition to Poulaphouca – and a lovely spot for summer time ceremonies. It’s a covered but open structure so great for summer time weddings. During the off-season indoor ceremonies are held in The Barn.

Accommodation at Poulaphouca House and Falls

Yourself and your guests will make use of the newly renovated main house and the Hunting Lodge – between then you will have access to 14 rooms. Nearby Blessington and further afield you’ll find a variety of Bed & Breakfasts and smaller hotels.

Overall, I was very impressed by this new private venue. Its stunning location, beautiful renovations, and excellent food and service make it a complelling choice for couples looking to tie the knot in a serene and idyllic setting. I look forward to the opportunity to filming here in 2023!
