Gardenmorris Estate wedding

Summertime in Co. Waterford

A Stunning Gardenmorris Estate Wedding

Gardenmorris Estate is a wedding venue we suspect we’re going to be visiting a lot more over the coming years. This was our first outing to the Co. Waterford house for Cailin and Ronan’s big day, and it was a breath of fresh air.

As a videographer, I am always on the hunt for variety in shoot locations and dynamic backdrops, and this estate really ticked all the boxes. Interestingly, this was the venue’s first large wedding, so we were thrilled to be a part of the day.

Getting ready at Gardenmorris Estate

Both Cailin and Ronan opted to get ready at the house that morning. From a filming perspective, this was ideal. There was plenty of space for the entire wedding party to relax without being on top of one another, and the rooms were flooded with natural light, gorgeous for cinematic footage. Being surrounded by such grandeur right from the start of the day really set the tone.

The Grounds & Reception

While the couple headed about 30 minutes away to the Church of Saint Augustine in Dungarvan for the ceremony, the return to the estate is where the venue really shined. Guests were treated to an outdoor reception on the lawn, taking full advantage of the summer weather.

We took the opportunity to explore the grounds during the couple shoot. Between the rose garden and the lake which features a bridge that frames a shot perfectly, we weren’t short on options. We had speeches out on the lawn before dinner, which worked perfectly given the relaxed atmosphere of the day.

Wedding celebrations at Gardenmorris

Then followed a unique flow to the Evening – dinner was held in the 19th-century Banquet Hall, a stunning space defined by high ceilings and exposed beams. One of the coolest aspects of a Gardenmorris Estate wedding is the flow of the night. After dinner, guests were moved to the rustic barn next door for dessert, a DJ, and a saxophonist. This kept the energy high and gave the team time to turn the Banquet Hall around. By the time everyone was ready for the serious partying, the Hall had been transformed for the live band.

It was a fantastic day with a great couple, in a venue that offers a little bit of everything.
